Chinese New Year – 15 Days of Joyful Celebration


The Chinese New Year is the festival that is celebrated for two consecutive weeks. These two weeks are celebrated with great pomp and people enjoy it forgetting all their tensions and worries. Different cities in china are filled with colors, lights, music etc. The fifteenth day of is called the spring festival as it marks the end of winter. In addition to this, some also call it the lantern festival as one can see colorful lanterns in different sizes all around.

There are some business agencies, who celebrate the Chinese New Year for three to four days. Whereas some end the celebration by the week, but mostly, the people celebrate the festival for the entire fifteen days. Each day has a different story and different message to convey. During this time, various gift items and greetings are exchanged. The elders give red envelop with money inside to the young ones as the blessing for success, happiness and wealth.
